Ever since the strike has begun, a series of meetings have been held featuring the university lecturers, the minister of labour, and the minister of education on how to resolve this concurrent issue that has brought down the learning process in public universities in Nigeria.
On many occasions the meeting held, always ends in deadlock which shows that all the efforts by putting in by the federal government to resolve the strike issue are still proving abortive.

In answering this question, they have not been any specific date to when the school will resume in Nigeria. The Academic Staff Union will only call off their strike if their demands are fully made by the federal government.
In one of their demands, the ASUU is demanding the use of UTAS instead of the IPPIS introduced by the government. However, in the last meeting held between the two parties, the ASUU disclosed that the UTAS has passed an 80% test by the Government and will be adopted soon. This shows that they are a greater tendency for schools to resume at any moment.
Another is the implementation of the 2009 agreement between the federal government and the Academic Staff Union. However, the minister of education on this has ensured that the government is working towards implementing the said agreement which is another green light showing theat the strike will soon be called off from now.
Tentatively we can say that universities in Nigeria will resume on 11th July 2022 if all their demands have been implemented before the said date. However, if their agreement is not fully according, then the strike may still linger for some months.

The ongoing strike could be the last strike that will be encountered in Nigeria if only the federal government can meet up with the full demands of ASUU. It is, however, preferable for this strike to be called off only when the agreement and fully acknowledge.
This continuous strike is bringing down the educational system of the country and even retarding the rate at which students graduate from university.
As student hope remain high to the calling off the strike, they are equally advised to try to engage in some beneficial skills that could earn them some money before returning back to school.
